HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Freshman Eric Hungerford threw a six-hit complete game and sophomore Al Posch went 4-for-6 as Gettysburg scored the final seven runs of the game to beat host Juniata College in a non-league baseball game Wednesday afternoon.

The Bullets (22-11) trailed 4-2 after four innings of play before their big finish, which included a four-run sixth that made it 7-4.

Gettysburg out-hit Juniata 14-6, with sophomore Austin Davis, freshman Cory Karagjozi, junior Pat Cody, and sophomore Patrick O'Grady collecting two hits apiece. Karagjozi and freshman Ben Roessle drove in two runs each while Posch also scored twice.

Ben Mersky went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Juniata (11-23).

The Eagles plated two unearned in the first to take a 2-1 lead, then another in the second to go ahead 3-1. Davis made it a 3-2 game when he drove in a run with an infield single against Juniata starter Ryan Morrison in the fourth, but the Eagles answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to assume a 4-2 advantage.

Posch led off the fifth with an infield single and went on to score on a sacrifice fly from freshman Scott Zanghellini before the Bullets broke through in the sixth. After Morrison walked the bases loaded, Justin Miller came on to face Karagjozi, who greeted the reliever with a two-run double to right-center as Gettysburg went in front for good. Two more Bullets crossed the plate on a wild pitch and an error as the visitors went up by three.

Gettysburg tacked on a pair of unearned runs in the eighth, when Roessle drilled a two-run single.

Hungerford (4-4) was in command in the latter part of the game, allowing just three base runners and two hits over the last five innings. He finished with three walks and five strikeouts and allowed only one earned run while earning his third complete game of the year.

Morrison (1-3) was handed the loss, yielding six runs on six hits and seven walks.
