WASHINGTON, Pa. - The No. 2-seeded Westminster College (26-15) baseball team topped the No. 3-seeded Thomas More (25-15), 2-1, on Thursday in the first round of the 2012 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship. Senior Ethan Yeager (Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts) squeezed home junior Kyle Allen (New Wilmington, PA / West Middlesex) for the walk-off win.

The Titans will play Saint Vincent in the winner's bracket tomorrow at noon, while the Saints will play Washington and Jefferson.

Westminster senior pitcher Justin Prejsnar (New Castle, PA / New Castle) pitched an impressive no decision in eight and a third innings. Prejsnar gave up one run (unearned) off seven hits; he fanned five batters and walked three. Junior reliever Nick Grow (North East, PA / North East) got the win in two-thirds innings of work and allowed no hits.

In the ninth, Allen led off with a single to left center. Allen then stole second and advanced to third base on a throwing error by the Thomas More catcher. Westminster had the bases loaded after back-to-back intentional walks to senior Tim Wiand (Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts) and junior Chris Ross (West Pittsburg, PA / New Castle). Yeager followed with an RBI squeeze bunt to end the game.

The Titans scored first in the bottom of the first inning. Senior Justin King (Fombell, PA / Riverside) led-off with a triple to right center field. Two batters later, Wiand reached base off a fielding error by the Saints' third baseman, scoring Allen. The Titans remained in the lead until Thomas More scored to tie it 1-1 with a run in the sixth.

The Titans had opportunities in the sixth and the seventh inning to break the lead but came up short. In the sixth Wiand was stranded after he tripled down the right field line, and then in the seventh, the Thomas More left fielder robbed a home run from Westminster junior Tyler Robinson (Creston, PA / Norwayne).

The Saints threatened in the eighth inning after having bases loaded with no outs. Prejsnar, however, settled in and retired the next three batters following a fielder's choice, strikeout, and a ground out.
