Greensboro Loses Deciding Game to Ferrum on Sunday

The Pride baseball team (5-4, 2-4 USA South) dropped the deciding third game to Ferrum (4-5, 2-5 USA South) 17-2 on Sunday afternoon. Greensboro would score first but would be unable to keep up with the hot hitting Panthers in this one.

Greensboro would get on the board first with two runs in the opening inning. Kyle Schmidtstarted the game off with a walk. A Seth Caison hit by pitch would move Schmidt over to second.James Feldmann plated both runners on a two run RBI double.

Ferrum jumped on The Pride with three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-2 lead. The Panthers would continue adding to their lead with two in the second, a run in the fourth, two in the fifth, four in the seventh, and five in the eighth to pull away for the 17-2 final.

Four Pride players- Feldmann, Kyle WilliardBrian Robbett, and Matthew Parker finished the game with one hit apiece. Feldmann led the way with two runs batted in.

The Pride will look to rebound on Monday against Maine- Presque Island. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Leonard Park.
