Bearcats Fall to Ithaca (16-1) and Old Westbury (3-2)

The Baruch College Bearcats lost two contests on Saturday at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, New York.

The Bearcats began by suffering a 16-1 defeat to the Bombers of Ithaca College. The Bombers smacked 19 total hits and scored five runs in each of the third and sixth innings.

The Bearcats scored their only run in the seventh inning when
Keith Ezerskystole home.

In the second game, the Bearcats scored two runs in their bottom half of the eighth inning to take the lead at 2-1.
Nicholas Pomo-Romanscored on a fielding error and Philip Loprete hit an RBI single to score Daniel Arangofor the two go ahead runs.

The lead would be brief as Old Westbury battled back by scoring two runs in their top half of the ninth and held the Bearcats scoreless in their final at-bat for the 3-2 victory.


Paul Perezpitched another outstanding game, but suffers a close loss again in a low scoring game.

The Bearcats on Sunday will return to action at Baseball Heaven with a 1:30 pm contest against Eastern Connecticut State University.
