MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Mark Kalokitis continued his torrid start to the 2013 season on Wednesday, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs and three runs scored in an 11-7 win over North Carolina Wesleyan (7-13). Pat DeToro also drove in three runs for CUA (7-2), while Colin Kelly went six innings and struck out six to earn the win on the mound.

Like it did on Tuesday, CUA jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning on Wednesday. Marc Hanna got the scoring started with a RBI double and Kalokitis followed with another RBI double.

Nick Clary then tripled home a run and Chris McCloud's sac fly to right field plated the Cards' fourth run.

CUA then opened up a commanding 10-0 lead with six runs in the 3rd. Kalokitis delivered another run-scoring double and then scored on a wild pitch.

Wes Stonelake tripled home McCloud and DeToro ripped a three-run homer to right to put the Cardinals on top by double-digits.

N.C. Wesleyan got on the board with a single run in the 5th and two more in the 6th, but a solo shot by Kalokitis in the bottom of the 5th kept CUA in front by eight.

N.C. Wesleyan was able to push four more runs across in the 7th and 8th innings to set the final margin at four.

Kelly surrendered only one earned run in his six innings of work, before giving way to Josh Martin, Kory Smigocki and Chris Nee down the stretch.

Jackson Pleasant surrendered nine runs on six hits in only 2.2 innings and suffered the loss, while Macon Hammond and Daniel Carroll also pitched for N.C. Wesleyan.

CUA continues its spring break trip on Thursday when the Cardinals face Ursinus at noon.
