GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ricky Pardo went 4-for-6 in Shenandoah University's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) doubleheader sweep of Guilford College Sunday at McBane Field. The Hornets (9-2, 3-1 ODAC), ranked 19th in this week's D3baseball.com Top 25 Poll, won the opener, 6-5, and game two, 9-2.

Guilford (7-8, 1-3 ODAC) overcame a 6-0 deficit late in the first game. The Quakers scored four times in the ninth inning to make it a one-run game, but Cameron Landmark delivered a disputed called third strike to Guilford's leading hitter, Justin Pittman, with runners on the corner.

Landmark's second save of the season made a winner out of Hornets' starter Nick McMahon (1-2) for the first time this season. He worked 8.1 innings and yielded three earned runs. Centerfielder Corbin Lucas had a pair of hits and three RBI for Shenandoah, including a two-out, two-run double in the fourth inning that made it a 4-0 game. Dan Powers hit a solo homer among his two hits and Nick Beall also had two hits.

Guilford's Corey Wallace paced the Quakers with three hits. D.J. Phillips had two hits and John Macon Smith two RBI for Guilford. Starter Will James (1-3) took the loss.

Shenandoah took advantage of three Guilford errors in the first inning to open a 3-0 first-inning lead in game two. A fourth Quakers' miscue led to the Hornets' fourth run and a 4-0 lead. Guilford got on the scoreboard with an unearned run of its own in the bottom of the fifth, but left-handed reliever Michael Scimanico worked out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam to keep the Quakers to just one run.

Lucas' RBI double plated another unearned run in the Hornets' two-run seventh and Shenandoah tacked on three more in the ninth to cap the game's scoring.

Pardo went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Shenandoah and Lucas added two more hits. Andrew Creamer was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Sciamanico (1-0) notched his first victory with a three-inning, three-strikeout performance.

Smith and Kent Peterson both had two hits for the Quakers. Sophomore Lou Trosch fanned six in 6.2 innings and did not walk a batter. He was charged with three earned runs.

The Quakers host Stevenson University at McBane Field Tuesday (3/12) at 3:00 p.m.
