REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands used a four-run seventh inning Wednesday to overtake Bridgewater College, 4-1, in non-conference baseball action.

For the first five innings, Bridgewater freshman righthander Justin Petock matched zeroes with a pair of Redlands pitchers.

Bridgewater, ranked No. 18 in the D3baseball.com poll, finally broke up the Redlands shutout bid in the top of the sixth. Nick Fulk led off with a single to center and Jonathan Mason followed with a base knock up the middle. Both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Andrew Hacker and Fulk scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Smith, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Petock carried a four-hit shutout into the seventh, but the Bulldogs bunched three hits along with a pair of Bridgewater errors to put four runs on the board.

Nathaniel Acosta led off the inning with a single and scored on a double by Eliot Smith to tie the score at 1-1. Matt Barnes then reached on a throwing error by Petock with Smith moving to third on the play. After Barnes swiped second, Mark Tomlinson walked to load the bases. Smith scored on an errant pickoff attempt by Eagles catcher Hunter Hensley and then Jason Henning doubled home two runs to give Redlands a 4-1 lead.

Four Redlands pitchers combined to limit the Eagles to just four hits. Leadoff batter Bryan Sanderson had two hits for Bridgewater.
