Thomas Loses Two to Lynx on Final Day in Florida

AUBURNDALE, FL- Thomas baseball (1-11) was unable to come away with a win in their final day in Florida, dropping a pair of games to Lindenwood-Belleville.

GAME ONE

Lindenwood got on the board early, cashing in for three runs in the first and nine in the second to jump out to a comfortable lead early. Thomas would score their lone run of the contest in the second as Zack Groat (West Bath, Maine) crossed the plate. The Lynx would add one more in the fourth, coming away with a 13-1 victory in the first game.

Derek Kane (Natick, Maine) was the lone Terrier with two hits, while Tim Bradford (Richmond, Maine) was credited for the teams RBI.

Eric Sucy (Belgrade, Maine) was charged with the loss, while Isiah Flemming (Fairfield, Maine) tossed 3.1 innings of relief, giving up two earned runs with two strikeouts.

GAME TWO

The Lynx again were able to get on the board, scoring one run in each of the first two innings, then erupting for six in the third, and five in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Thomas would plate two runs in the fifth, but would be unable to rally for a comeback, dropping the final game of the doubleheader 13-2.

Jeffrey Richardson (Rochester, N.H.) picked up two hits in the loss and an RBI, while Bradford plated home the other Thomas score.

Jake Chamblee (South Berwick, Maine) picked up the loss, throwing 3.1 innings on ten hits, while striking out two. Dillon Dunbar (Saco, Maine) threw a hitless inning of relief, striking out two.

Thomas will return home and kickoff conference play this weekend with two days of doubleheaders at Lyndon State.
