More news about: Thomas

AUBURNDALE, FL- Thomas (1-9) was unable to build a winning streak, dropping their lone game of the day 13-3 to Carroll University. The Terriers were in contention going into the seventh 4-3, but a seven run eighth inning by Carroll sealed them the victory.

Carroll got on the board quickly, getting one run in the first on a two out pop fly that dropped in the infield. They added two more in the fourth, but Thomas would respond with two of their own in the bottom of the fifth.

The two teams would go back and forth with runs in the seventh, then Carroll would erupt for seven runs in the eighth, and another two in the ninth to add to their lead.

Tim Bradford (Richmond, Maine), Dillon Emerson (Concord, N.H.), and John Charves (Harwich, Mass.) each had two hits in the loss for Thomas, while Charves drove in a team-leading two RBI.

Tim Locke (Waterville, Maine) was charged with the loss, pitching seven innings, giving up four earned runs, but striking out a team season-high seven. Justin Roy (Gorham, Maine) made his first collegiate appearance, striking out one in 0.2 innings pitched.

The Terriers will have two days off in Florida, then return to action Tuesday in a doubleheader versus Lindenwood-Belleville to conclude their southern swing.
