Baruch Defeats Lehman in Doubleheader With 22 Total Runs, Team 8-0 in CUNYAC

The baseball team stay undefeated in the CUNYAC following a doubleheader sweep of Lehman College on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

The visiting Bearcats posted 7-2 and 15-1 wins to raise their record to 13-9 overall and 8-0 in the CUNYAC. Lehman drops to 9-12 overall and 4-5 in the CUNYAC.

In the opener,
Paul Perez pitched another outstanding effort with a complete game (7IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 3K) to earn his fourth win of the season.

Angel Tejedastarted the scoring with a three run homer in the first inning and had an RBI double in the sixth. He later added an RBI single in the seventh to help complete the victory. Tejeda has totaled seven RBI in his last two games.

In the second game, the Bearcats erupted for 12 runs in their first at-bat and never looked back en route to the 15-1 rout.

Seven different players had at least two hits led by
Nicholas Pomo-Roman(3-for-5, 3 runs, 1 RBI) and Philip Loprete(3-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs).

Eric Peralta(6IP, 5H, 1R, 0ER, 4K) and Connor Schweitzer(1IP, 1K) combined for the victory to help the team record their 12th win in the last 15 games.

The busy weekend for the Bearcats will continue with an important single game CUNYAC contest tomorrow against the Stevens Institute of Technology. First pitch in Hoboken, New Jersey is scheduled for 2:30 pm.
