Baruch Snaps 6-Game Losing Streak, Knock Off U.S.M.M.A. (15-11) in High Scoring Affair

The Baruch College Bearcats ended a six-game losing streak by defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 15-11, in a game played on Saturday afternoon in King's Point, New York.

The visiting Bearcats (15-16) scored their second-most runs in a game this season with 17 total hits.

The game was tied at 9-9 heading into the ninth inning, but the Bearcats took the lead with six runs on six hits, highlighted by a bases-clearing triple by
Angel Tejeda, to score the go ahead runs for the victory.

Paul Perezwent the distance on the mound for a complete game to notch his sixth win of the season.

Philip Lopretehad the hot bat, batting 4-for-4, with a homer, triple, two singles, four runs scored and two RBI for one of his best games in a Baruch uniform.

The baseball team will continue their busy schedule on Sunday with a doubleheader against Mount St. Vincent. First pitch at Bronx Community College baseball field is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
