Spadling Takes Game One of Weekend Series from Webster 2-1

Louisville, KY – Spalding (26-8) took game one of their weekend series against number 10 ranked Webster (27-7) Saturday afternoon.  

After 3.5 scoreless innings senior Keith Gorence ripped a two run single to center field scoring Sam White and JR Belt to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Webster's Ian Foege hit an RBI single to center field scoring Alex Kazmier in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 2-1, but the SU defense shut down Webster in the seventh inning to secure the win.  

Keith Gorence led SU at the plate, going 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

Kyle Hudson got the win, allowing one run on eight hits while striking out one.

Spalding and Webster will conclude their series with a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m., EST.
