Strong Hitting Continues, Baruch Sweeps Doubleheader from Mount St. Vincent (15-13, 7-3)

The Baruch College Bearcats won both games of a doubleheader against the College of Mount St. Vincent on Sunday afternoon at the Bronx Community College baseball field.

The two wins help the Bearcats raise their overall record above .500 to 17-16, while the Dolphins from the Skyline Conference drop to 8-28.

In the first game, the Bearcats led from start to finish for another high-scoring 15-13 victory. They totaled 12 hits with four different players recording at least two.


Nicholas Pomo-Roman had four RBI and Jasdeep Buttarcontinued his outstanding rookie campaign with two singles and three RBI.

Joseph Cali(4.1 IP, 10 H, 13 R, 5 ER, 1 K) earns the victory, while Christopher Maisonetcame out of the bullpen for 2.1 scoreless innings of solid relief.

In the second game,
Eric Peraltaearned the complete game, pitching victory (7 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 8 K), while Angel Tejedasmacked a solo homer in the fifth inning.

Daniel Arangohad a single and double, along with two RBI, to stretch the team's winning streak to three with a total of 37 runs scored.

The Bearcats have no games scheduled this week (subject to change). The CUNYAC Baseball Championship Tournament is scheduled to start on Monday, May 6.
