OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team lost a 3-0 decision to the New Jersey City Gothic Knights at home Thursday afternoon from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  Old Westbury now stands at 3-12 on the season while New Jersey City moves to 2-8.

New Jersey City jumped out to an early advantage with two unearned runs scoring off an Eric Giordano single, which also included a fielding error by left fielder Nick Yip to allow the second run to cross the plate.  The Gothic Knights added a third run with a Matthew Wagner leadoff double and two batters later scored off Nick D'Errico infield grounder off starter Braylin Perez in the third inning.

The Panthers threatened in the third when a pair of walks and a stolen base advanced runners over to second and third with two outs.  However, Yip was picked off at second base by pitcher Kris Fellin to escape out of the jam.   Old Westbury again found themselves with runners in scoring position, but Fellin once again got out of the inning unscathed with a pick off of Byron Whiteto move along to the fifth inning.  Frank DiMaria took over for Perez in the eighth inning and recorded six outs over two innings of relief work.

Perez (0-2) took Old Westbury's loss despite putting forth a quality start, finishing with four striking over seven innings of work while allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks.

Kevin Licul's fifth multi-hit game of the season paced the Panthers offensively, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate in addition to a stolen base.  Tommy Ziegen (1-1, 2 BB) added a pair of stolen bases to give him a team-leading 11 on the season.

Giordano went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the way for New Jersey City.

Fellin and Kevin DeMauro combined for the Gothic Knights' shutout, with Fellin (1-2) earning his first win of the season and DaMauro recording his second save.  Fellin scattered five hits over eight innings, striking out five and walking five.
