WINTER HAVEN, FLA. -- Mount Union University remained unbeaten on the 2014 baseball season with a 7-0 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in a rain shortened game in Florida on Tuesday.

Mount Union improved to 5-0 on the season with a 7-0 victory that was called after eight innings due to significant rain.

Kyle Toma held the Fightin' Engineers to three hits over six shutout innings to earn the victory, with Ryan Sason pitching the final two frames in the combined shutout for Mount Union.

Rose-Hulman mounted its best rally in the eighth inning, when sophomore Caleb Kissel (Plainfield, Ill./North) and sophomore Patrick Klima (South Bend, Ind./St. Joseph) slapped back-to-back singles to start the frame, before Mount Union thwarted the comeback attempt.

Senior Andrew Benitez (Mililani, Hawaii) led Rose-Hulman with two singles on the day.

Mount Union stands 5-0, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 2-1.  The Fightin' Engineers square off with St. John Fisher on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.
