Ryan Smith earned his third win in relief and Zachary T. Uher had the winning RBI to score Nicholas Pomo-Roman in the sixth inning to lead the Bearcats to a 2-1 victory over the Dolphins from the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday afternoon in Riverdale, New York.
The visiting Bearcats got on the scoreboard first in the second inning with an RBI ground out by Uher to score Angel Tejeda for the early 1-0 lead.
The Mount came back to tie the game in the fourth inning via an RBI single by Chris Sideli to centerfield to bring home Tim Hoxha.
Uher came through again in the sixth inning with an RBI single to score Pomo-Roman for what stood as the eventual final score of 2-1.
Smith entered the game in relief in the second inning and in 4.2 innings allowed only four hits and one earned run.
Eric Peralta had a near flawless three innings of relief to earn the save with one hit allowed and four strikeouts to hand the Bearcats a season-high three game winning streak.
The Bearcats will return to action on Thursday, March 27, with a game against Rutgers-Newark.
Please note the game will start at 3:30 pm and will now be played at MCU Park in Coney Island.
