Union, N.J. (3/29/14) – Junior Ron Reagan tossed a complete game, three hit shutout to propel the Rutgers-Camden baseball team over Kean University by the final of 3-0 in NJAC action on Saturday.

The contest was moved up to 10:30 a.m. to try and beat the weather.  The teams battled through rain for 95% of game one and after a short time, it was decided that game two would need to be postponed.  No makeup date for game two has been decided at this time.

Reagan improved to 3-1 as he allowed three hits, including a triple to break up the no-hitter with two outs in the sixth, with one walk and five strikeouts.  The southpaw forced the Cougars to fly out 17 times in the contest.

Junior Matt Mantione was the hard luck loser.  Mantione (2-1) allowed three earned runs, all in the first inning, and four hits, while fanning 11 and walking three. 

All of today's offense came in the first 10 minutes of action as Brett Tenuto led off the game by being grazed with a pitch.  A walk to Joe Brooks put runners at first and second and small ball moved both into scoring position with one out.  Doug Carter then found just enough space between the pitching mound and short to groundout to the shortstop and push across the game's first run.  Connor Hall then put a 1-1 curveball over the fence in right to push the score out to 3-0. 

Both pitchers took over from there as neither team was able to scratch across a run over the remainder of the contest with Reagan and Mantione allowing just three hits apiece the rest of the way as both tossed complete games.

Senior Shane Alvarez broke up the no-hitter in the sixth with a triple into the gap.
