More news about: LeTourneau

In the nightcap, a one-out RBI triple in the second inning by Jake Sadler for Howard Payne was enough run support for Corey Howie to lead HPU in the 1-0 win.

LeTourneau got its first hit of the game when Kyle Jacobs doubled to left field to start the sixth inning. However, LETU failed to move him any further in the rest of the inning. Then, in the seventh – the final inning of the contest – Dillon Yates singled to center field with two outs. Howie got a fly out to end the contest.

LeTourneau starting Justin Jenkins was the tough-luck loser, allowing just five hits and striking out six to fall to 5-2. Howie picked up his first win of the season, allowing two hits and striking out two.

LETU returns home for a crucial three-game series as they will host local rival Texas-Tyler as the series starts on Friday, Apr. 11 at 7 p.m.
