CLARKSVILLE, AR - After fighting hard for a doubleheader split on Friday, the Louisiana College baseball team brought out the big bats on Saturday, as they banged out 12 hits and hit three home runs on their way to a 13-3 win in seven innings over the Ozarks to take the series.

LC broke the scoreless tie in the top of the second when junior first basemanGarrett Parsons hit a solo home run to left field to put the Wildcats up 1-0. Senior catcher Kyle Feazell would also come around to score later in the inning when Ozarks' left fielder Al Smith misplayed a ball off the bat of Cary Myers.

Feazell would then add a two run single in the top of the third that drove in Mark Riendeau and Darien Bartie to put LC ahead 4-0.

LC would then put together a seven run inning in the top of the fourth that was highlighted by a two RBI double off the wall by Riendeau and a two-run bomb off the bat of senior shortstop Tayor Beavers.

It was Beavers' first career home run, but would not be the last one of the game for LC, as junior third baseman Will Currier would connect in the top of the sixth inning for a two-run homer to left to put the game away for good.

Wildcat junior pitcher Brand Bignar was outstanding once again, as he battled the stomach flu to go 5.2 innings and gave up six hits and just two earned runs to collect his second consecutive win.

Following the theme of his start against Mary Hardin-Baylor a week before, Bignar did not give up a hit until there were two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Wildcats, now 10-17 overall and 9-12 in ASC play, sit in eighth place in the current ASC standings. With the new ASC Tournament format in place, only the top eight teams in the standings make the postseason, which puts the Wildcats in position to control their own destiny the rest of the way.

With no midweek games remaining on the schedule, the Wildcats will take on a dangerous Mississippi College team next week at home in an ASC series slated to begin on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
