FDU-Florham Edges Baruch (11-9) in High-Scoring Affair

The baseball team lost a high-scoring 11-9 contest against FDU-Florham on Tuesday afternoon at MCU Park in Coney Island.

The Bearcats trailed during most of the competitive contest and were behind 5-4 through five innings, but the visiting Devils (11-5) exploded for five runs on four hits and one error in the sixth inning to lead 10-4.

The Bearcats battled back with four runs in the seventh inning to get as close as 10-8, but the Devils added two more insurance runs late to earn the narrow 11-9 victory.

Five different players had at least two hits with Nicholas Pomo-Roman leading the way by batting 3-for-5 with three singles, two RBI, one run and a stolen base.

Angel Tejeda went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a two-run homer deep to left field in the fifth inning for his team-leading third homer of the season.

Philip Loprete had an RBI triple in the seventh inning to plate Pomo-Roman.

The Bearcats will continue their difficult out-of-conference schedule on Thursday, April 10, with a 3:30 pm contest at Farmingdale State on Long Island.
