 The Millsaps Majors picked up a pair of conference wins with 9-1 and 7-2 wins over the Sewanee Tigers. 

Game one Box

In game one, Smokey Ethridge and Zander Romano combined to strike out 15 Tigers in the victory. Ethridge went the first six, scattering 10 hits while allowing just one run and striking out nine. Romano picked up the save, going the final three innings and allowed just two hits. 

The Majors also took advantage of 12 walks and five errors by Sewanee. Millsaps scored a trio of runs in the first, taking advantage of a lead-off double from Stephen GatesIsaac Glenn had an RBI ground out while Samuel Doucet brought in two more when his line drive was dropped by the second baseman in short left field. 

The Majors built their lead in the third on another unearned run. Annon Ethridge scored on a Gates' infield hit after the ball glanced off the glove of Grant Goodson and rolled down the left field line. 

Millsaps broke the game open in the sixth, using walks, wild pitches and an error to score four runs. The Majors scored four times in the sixth, needing only one hit. 

Romano shutdown the Tigers in his relief effort as the Majors rolled to a game one win, improving to 16-15 and 7-8 in the SAA. 

In game two, Keith Shumaker got the start and went the distance. Shumaker also scattered 10 hits, allowed two runs and struck out four against just one walk. 

Doucet got the offense going in the second inning, tripling to right field. Tiger out fielder Jackson Cooper lost the ball in the sun and over ran the ball by 20 feet, Doucet rolled into third with a stand-up triple. Isaac Glenn followed with a sac fly to give the Majors the early lead. 

The Tigers put up their two runs in the third, stringing together four hits to score the pair. Jack Whaley doubled off the right field wall to drive in a run and was the big blow of the inning. 

The Majors would manufacture single runs in the fourth and fifth to re-take the lead. William Chenoweth walked, went to second on a wild pitch, then went to third on a fly out and scored on a sac fly. 

In the fifth, Blake Littlejohn was pushed to third on a sac bunt and a single and scored on a Gates' sacrifice fly as the Majors took the lead for good. 

The Majors would bust the game open in the sixth, scoring four times. Isaac Glenn doubled home Doucet but the big blow was a costly throwing error. Annon Etheridge laid down a sac bunt only to see the pitcher throw the ball into left field when he tried to get the lead runner at third. One run scored on the play and allowed for Logan Patterson to squeeze home another run and another Gates' sac fly. 

The Tigers would load the bases in the seventh but Shumaker enduced an game-ending double play started on a nifty graby by Etheridge at third. 

The win moves Millsaps to 17-15 and 8-8 in the SAA. They will go for the sweep tomorrow with a noon first pitch scheduled for game three.
