The 16 strikeouts ties the most by any NCAA Division III pitcher this year and is a record for Berry since the Vikings transitioned to Division III.

"Ben pitched outstanding and only threw 105 pitches in nine innings," said Berry Head Coach David Beasley. "He really attacked the strike zone and Will Heard did a good job behind the plate."

On offense, Alex McGill had a solo home run and pinch hitter Austin Neely had an RBI single for Berry.

Berry plated an uneared run in the seoncd inning, which is all they needed.

Centre had a strong start from hard luck loser Tom Caudill (1-5) He tossed seven frames and allowed two BC runs.

The two teams close the SAA regular season with a doubleheader on Saturday.
