JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com| After seven innings, New Jersey City University led 2-0 in game one and 3-1 in game two but William Paterson University twice scored four times in the top of the eighth inning to steal a pair of New Jersey Athletic Conference contests from the Gothic Knights, 4-2 and 5-3, in NJAC doubleheader action on April 19 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

Both schools entered with five-game losing streaks. NJCU (9-19, 3-11 NJAC) dropped its seventh straight with five of the defeats coming by two runs or less and seven of its last nine losses by three or fewer runs. William Paterson (11-16-1, 5-8-1 NJAC) improved its playoff chances with the sweep. The Pioneers had been 2-13 when trailing after seven innings prior to the pair of comebacks. NJCU has dropped three of its last five conference games when an opponent scored the go-ahead runs in its last two innings.

Junior right-hander KEVIN DEMAURO (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) allowed just two earned runs and five hits in 7.1 innings in game two, striking out two against three walks in a no-decision. Freshman third baseman TAYLOR BORN (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) was hit by three pitches in the doubleheader and now has been hit 12 times on the season—one shy of the program's single-season record.
