#2 Gorloks Go Deep to Clinch 8th Straight SLIAC Title

Webster muscled up with four home runs in the five inning affair, two by Ryan Hall, and one each by Jeff Kammer and Joe Winckel.  The game was called after five innings due to lightning and a scheduled game two was cancelled.

The Gorloks jumped on top in the first.  Corey Lasky (SR, Vernon Hills, IL/Adlai E Stevenson HS) and Hall (SR, Chesterfield, MO/Eureka HS) singled.  Lasky scored on an errant pickoff throw and a Taylor Stoulp (SR, St. Louis, MO/St. Mary's HS) single brought Hall home to make it 2-0.

Hall launched a solo home run to lead off the third inning.  Stoulp doubled and Winckel (SR, Bonne Terre, MO/North County HS) followed with a two-run shot to make it 5-0, Webster.

In the fourth, Lasky singled and Hall hammered his second straight home run.  After Stoulp reached on an error and Winckel walked, Kammer (JR, Chesterfield, MO/Lafayette HS) uncorked a three-run homer to make it 10-0.  The Red Devils pick up two runs in the bottom of the fourth off starter Zach Schneider (SR, Grayslake, IL/Warren Township HS) to make it 10-2.

Lightning in the area halted the game in the top of the sixth, and the game was called.  Schneider went all five innings for the win, improving to 4-1 on the year.  He allowed two hits, two runs, a walk, and struck out six.

Hall was 3-4, with two home runs, three RBIs, and two runs.  Those were his third and fourth round-trippers on the season.  Kammer was 3-4, with his team-leading sixth home run, had three RBIs,and a run scored.   Winckel was 2-3, with his fourth home run of the year, two RBIs, and two runs.
