Tommies win 12th conference title in row

St. Thomas baseball won its 12th consecutive MIAC regular-season championship with Sunday's 6-3 win over Augsburg in a game one of a twinbill at Parade Stadium in Minneapolis.

Game two starts at 3:45 p.m.

The No. 12-ranked Tommies (28-7 overall, 17-2 MIAC) won the outright championship with their victory plus the 3-1 loss by second-place Bethel (13-4) in its game one against St. Mary's.

The Tommies were outhit 12-8 but capitalized on four Augsburg middle-infield errors en route to a 5-0 lead. J.D. Dorgan had a sac fly and in the last inning doubled and later scored on a wild pitch.

Sophomore Eric Veglahn improved to 6-0 on the season as he allowed one run in 5 1-3 innings.
