Baseball records 13 hits in 8-3 win over LaGrange

ROME, Ga. – The Berry College baseball team collected 13 hits and allowed just one earned run in an 8-3 win over LaGrange College on Tuesday night. Berry is now 3-0 and LaGrange moved to 0-1.

The Vikings plated four runs in the second inning and never looked back. Kevin Scott collected three singles in five trips to the plate. Dusty TysonAlfred FrancisDevin Skelton and Alex McGill all had two hits in the game. McGill knocked a double, which was BC's only extra base hit in the contest.

Berry starter TJ Montgomery worked 3 1/3 innings for the Vikings. He allowed four hits and two runs, both of which were unearned. Joey Bell took over in the top of the fourth inning. A total of seven pitchers took the mound for the Vikes.

Alec Redden was 2-4 with one run scored for LaGrange. Starting pitcher Eric Morell took the defeat for the Panthers.

Berry College hosts Emory & Henry on Friday at 3 p.m.
