The Dominican University baseball team blanked Emerson College, 4-0, at the Player Development Complex in Fort Myers, Florida, at the 2015 Gene Cusic Classic on Thursday afternoon.

Cody Mueller (Addison, Ill.) got his second win in three days for the Stars on the mound.  Mueller struck out ten hitters on the day, giving up five hits and five walks.  The senior right-hander also picked off a runner in the first.  Mueller is now 2-0 on the season and has yet to surrender an earned run in over ten innings of work.

Ryan Freeman (Barrington, R.I.) came on in relief for the Stars in the top of the eighth inning.  Freeman came in with two Lions' runners on base and the potential tying run on deck.  He managed to get out of the jam with a fly out to right field.  Freeman would wind up getting his first hold of the season.  Dakota Pisarek (Chicago, Ill.) came on in with two outs and runners on first and third base in the top of the ninth.  He managed to seal the deal and captured his first save of the season for the Stars.

The Stars managed to put two runs on the board in the bottom of the second.  Tim Varallo (Chicago, Ill.) and Joe Lyons (Chicago Ridge, Ill.) had an RBI single each in the frame.

In the third, Richie Green (Chicago, Ill.) hit a sac fly to left to score Quinlan Milne Rojek (Minneapolis, Minn.).  Then in the fifth, Colin Janison (Las Vegas, Nev.) would hit into a fielder's choice to score Milne Rojek from third base, staking Mueller to a 4-0 lead after five.

Offensively, the Stars had a total of 11 hits.  Milne Rojek went 2-for-4 and scored two runs while Janison had the only extra-base hit of the game with a double in the second.  He also had a RBI and scored once for the Stars.

The Stars improve to a 2-3 record on the year.  The Stars have two more games Fort Myers before they return to River Forest.  Dominican will face Haverford College tomorrow at Terry Park for a 12:00 EST first pitch
