WINTER HAVEN, FL. - Adam Ashenfarb twirled a complete game four-hitter in his first start for the Dutchmen in a 6-1 win in game one of the Sunday twinbill against Keuka College. In game two, Andy Labeck earned a tough-luck CG loss as Union fell 1-0.

Ashenfarb allowed just one run on four hits while striking out seven compared to just two free passes. The sophomore transfer from Lafayette sent down the first nine Wolfpack batters and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning.

Union got on the board in the first when Anders Goetz doubled, advanced to 3rd on a deep fly by Kent Curran and was able to score on a catchers throwing error. The Dutchmen added two more in the second frame when Matt Drumscored on a Zack Twitchell groundout and a Jake Vesling RBI single.

The Garnet and White broke open the game in the bottom of the fifth when Goetz tripled and scored on a Kent Curranground ball which was booted by the Keuka first basemen. Curran then came across home plate after Jamie Fabersingled. Fishman provided the final 6-1 margin with a RBI single of his own.

Labeck worked six strong innings in the second game, allowing just one earned run on six hits. He struck out six while walking just one. Faber broke up Keuka's Lawrence's no hit bid in the seventh inning with a single. Union had a chance to tie the game as Drum hit a two-out line drive that looked ticketed for the gap but a circus catch made by the Wolfpack's centerfielder ending the Dutchmen's comeback attempt.

Union will face #2 St. Thomas in a single game tomorrow afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 3pm.
