Baseball loses wild one at Transylvania

ROME, Ga. -- Transylvania plated 4 runs in the top of the ninth inning and defeated Berry College, 11-9, on Sunday.

The Vikings dropped to 8-7 and the Pioneers moved to 2-3.

Berry had rallied from a 7-3 deficit with 5 runs in the eighth inning to take a lead of 8-7. The Vikings later added one run in the bottom of the ninth.

Transy out-hit the Vikes, 11-10. Ben Jernigan went 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBI to lead Berry batters. Alex McGill was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI.

Reliever Braxton Teal (1-1) took the loss for the Vikings. 

Nick Edwards went 2-5 with 4 RBI to lead Pioneer hitters.

The Vikings host Sewanee on Friday.
