Baseball defeated by Transylvania, 6-2

ROME, Ga. -- Transylvania defeated Berry College, 6-2, on Saturday. The Pioneers improved to 1-3 and the Vikings fell to 8-6.

Both teams had 8 hits in the contest. BC, however, was felled by 5 errors in the game.

Alex McGill went 2-for-4 with a double and scored once. Alfred Francis also was 2-for-4 at the plate for the hone team.

Viking Parker Austin got the start for Berry. He worked 4 innings, allowed 3 runs, 4 hits and took the loss. 

Adam Boone pitched 7 innings and got the win for the Pioneers. Hunter Jones and Connor Blevins recorded 2 hits for Transy.

The Vikings and Pioneers play again on Sunday. Game time is noon at William R. Bowdoin Field.
