ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – A quick glance at this week's schedule for the Elizabethtown College baseball team showed six home games and a chance to gain ground in the race for a postseason spot. Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Juniata, by scores of 11-3 and 9-2, at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium pushed the Blue Jays' winning streak to four games and earned them their third Landmark series victory of the season.

Juniata came out swinging and surprised Blue Jays' ace Kristopher Davis with four hits and a pair of runs to take an early 2-0 lead.

Davis locked in from there, though, shutting the Eagles down to the tune of three hits and one run the rest of the way. The senior from Doylestown, who led all Division III pitchers with a 30:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio coming into the weekend, added eight more strikeouts and only one walk to his impressive season.

The visiting Eagles gave a run away in the first when shortstop Chris Schreder overthrew his second baseman. A passed ball allowed Frank Ragozzino to score and a miscue by right fielder Tyler Morris brought in a pair of unearned runs for a 4-2 E-town lead in the second.

Wednesday's walk-off hero, Kyle Fackler, padded the Blue Jays' lead with a third-inning two-run double that scored Aaron Rahn and Nick Lorenz. When Luke Gatti doubled to the gap in left center to start the fourth, the day was over for Juniata starter Eric Grace. Grace lasted three innings, giving up five hits, five walks and striking out three. Though seven runs went on Grace's line, just three were charged to him.

The Blue Jays concluded their scoring in the fourth with an RBI single from Rahn, a two-run double off the bat of Ragozzino and Alex Holbert's two-out, two-run single.

Gatti, Fackler and Rahn each had two hits and Davis improved to 4-0 on the season with his fifth quality start and second complete game. He's pitched at least 6.1 innings in all five of his appearances this spring and gone seven innings or more in four.

Tyler Weary equaled a season-high with four runs batted in and the Blue Jays (15-8, 6-5 Landmark) broke open a 4-2 game with five runs in the sixth to complete the Saturday sweep.

Kevin Elwell limited Juniata (6-11, 2-9 Landmark) to seven hits and two runs (one earned) over five frames, handing the ball over to Taras Letnaunchyn and Sean Jones for the final two innings. Both relievers were perfect, with Jones striking out two in the seventh.

Gatti answered another first-inning run from the Eagles with a double down the left field line to score Holbert and Fackler.

Weary's two-run single up the middle put E-town in front for good, 4-2 in the fifth. The senior came right back with a two-run double in the sixth, one of three hits to plate runs in the inning for the hosts. Fackler delivered a two-run triple and Portillo singled home Weary in Elizabethtown's breakout inning.

Juniata's offense again sputtered after showing life early. The visitors collected three hits over the final four innings, though their pitchers kept the Blue Jays in relative check until the five-run, four-hit sixth inning.

Chris Fulton started and went the first four innings for Juniata, allowing just two hits. Chris Sinisi followed, but was tagged for the loss after walking four and yielding a pair of runs.
