Baseball rallies for 11-10 win at Covenant

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Berry College erupted for 7 runs in the seventh inning to rally for an 11-10 win at Covenant on Tuesday afternoon. BC, which won its fourth straight game, improved to 12-9. CC dropped to 7-10.

The Vikings trailed 9-4 entering the seventh. BC then sent 10 hitters to the plate en route to knocking 6 hits and plating 7 runs in the frame. Kevin Scott had a bases-loaded double which scored 3 runners to highlight the scoring.

Ben Jernigan went 3-4 with a double to lead Berry hitters. Alex McGill had 2 doubles and 3 other Vikings had 2 hits in the game: Dusty TysonMcTier Mosley and Alfred Francis

TJ Montgomery was the pitcher of record when the Vikes took the lead and got the win. He improved to 2-2, allowed a run, 2 hits and struck out 2 hitters. Tyler Will tossed the final 2 frames for the visitors and got the save.

The teams combined for 31 hits, with BC getting 18. Additionally, the game featured 6 errors which led to 9 unearned runs. 

Perry Rigby was 3-5 with a home run for the Scots. Covenant hit 3 long balls in the contest.

The Vikings return to action at nationally-ranked Birmingham-Southern this weekend.
