Old Westbury Knocks Out Baruch (10-5)

The Baruch College Bearcats lost a 10-5 non-conference contest to the Panthers of Old Westbury on Monday afternoon in Old Westbury, New York.

The visiting Bearcats fell behind early, 5-0, but came back in impressive fashion with five runs in the fifth inning to tie the contest.


Nicholas LaForgiastarted the big fifth inning with a two run single to left center to plate Eric Ulinoand Jesus Ozuna Perez. With LaForgia on second base and Angel Tejedaon third, Zachary T. Uherpromptly stepped up to the plate next and blasted a three run homer to right field for the tie. The homer was his fourth this season.

Unfortunately, the Panthers battled back two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to clinch the 10-5 win on their home field.

The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, April 8, with a 6:45 pm non-conference contest at SUNY-Maritime in the Bronx.
