The Dominican University baseball team swept a doubleheader from the Aurora University Spartans on the road on Saturday in a Northern Athletics College Conference (NACC) series.  The victories mark the first time in program history the Stars have swept the Spartans. 
 
Colin Janison's (Las Vegas, Nev.) three-run home run in the top of the eighth powered the Stars past the Spartans 12-8 in game one while Quinlan Milne Rojek (Minneapolis, Minn.) tossed eight solid innings in his second start of the season as Dominican took game two 10-4.
 
With the wins, the Stars improve to 10-12 overall and 7-3 in the NACC.  The Stars return home tomorrow to take on the Edgewood College Eagles in a NACC doubleheader at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.  First pitch of the series is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
 
Game One: Dominican 12, Aurora 8
 
Aurora jumped on Dominican's Chance Emlund (Chicago, III.) early, scoring three runs on three hits and an error, including executing a double steal with Tanner Omyaian stealing home.
 
Dominican answered with a five-spot in the top of the third when Joe Kukla (Chicago, III.) started the inning with a double down the left field line.  After a walk, Cody Schuster (Las Vegas, Nev.) doubled to score Kukla and put runners at second and third.  After Milne Rojek scored on a wild pitch, Richie Green (Chicago, III.) singled to score Schuster to knot the game at 3-3.  After a double by Nathaniel Natividad (Oak Lawn, III.), Joe Lyons (Chicago Ridge, III.) and Quentin Becquey (St. Julien Le Faucon, France) tallied back-to-back RBI singles to end the day for Aurora's starting pitcher, Colin Hart.
 
After Aurora got one run back in the bottom of the fourth, the Stars plated two runs on a double to the gap in right center by Lucas McKinney (Arvada, Colo.) to open a 7-4 lead for the Stars.
 
The Spartans erased the deficit in the bottom of the fifth, rapping out five hits off of Emlund in the frame, including an RBI double by Mike Cherven that evened the score, 7-7.
 
The Stars pulled back in front on an RBI single by Green in the sixth and then broke the game open in the top of the eighth when Janison drove a 1-1 pitch over the fence in left center with a pair of runners aboard.
 
The Spartans got one run back in the bottom of the eighth, pulling within 11-8 on a homer by Danny Walczak but Aurora could not get any closer with Tyler Brown (Bartlett, III.) tossing the final four innings to pick up his first save of the season.
 
Emlund worked five innings, allowing seven runs, five earned, on 13 hits and one walk while striking out six.  The junior left-hander stands at 3-3 on the season, winning his last three consecutive starts.
 
Offensively, Kukla, Green and Lyons collected three hits apiece with Kukla going 3-for-6 at the top of the order with a double and two runs scored while Green was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
 
Game Two: Dominican 10, Aurora 4
 
Milne Rojek limited the Spartans to three runs over eight innings, scattering 11 hits and three walks while striking out two.  The Stars then turned the game over to Dakota Pisarek (Chicago, Ill.) for the ninth.  Pisarek surrendered a run on three hits but stranded runners at the corners when he got the last two hitters of the game looking at strike three.
 
Aurora but up three runs in the first three innings while Dominican managed a RBI double by Milne Rojek in the top of the third to make it 3-1 after three innings.
 
Janison singled to start the fourth, extending his current hitting streak to 22 games, and Green followed with a single of his own to put two aboard for Natividad who drove a 1-0 pitch out to left center for his second home run of the season and give the Stars a 4-3 lead.
 
The Stars pushed across two more runs in the top of the fifth after an Aurora error extended the inning Becquey to single to left with the bases loaded and the Stars never trailed the rest of the way.
 
Natividad went 3-for-5 in game two with 4 RBI while Green collected another three-hit game, driving in his 13^th run of the season.
