Tomcats tame Lions

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team cruised to an 11-4 non-conference victory over the Penn State-Behrend Lions Friday afternoon at Tomcat Park.

 

The Lions plated three runs in the top of the third before the Tomcats responded with 11 unanswered runs.

 

Brian Genco paced Thiel's offense going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Trent Mosley went 2-for-3 with an RBI-double in the fifth and three runs scored. Ryan Brumbaugh also had two hits in the victory.

 

Jaden Nozicka recorded his fifth win. He struck out two batters in seven innings.

 

The Tomcats (23-8) will hit the road Sunday to take on the Marietta Pioneers. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
