MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 20 Rhodes baseball team slipped past No. 20 Millsaps College in Southern Athletic Association play on Friday, 5-4.

The Lynx improve to 25-11 in 2015 and 12-6 in conference play while the Majors fall to 25-8 on the season and has a 15-4 mark in league action.

The Rhodes offense sparked right from the get go, posting their first run in the first inning when Ryan Olive picked up the RBI, sending home Bill Munson.

The Lynx offense continued to roll in the second frame, adding four runs. Marcus Moreland got things started, when a sacrifice bunt scored Andrew Wallis. Bennett Notestein singled up the middle on the next at bat to send home Jackson Lourie for the third Lynx run.

Olive came up big for the Lynx again, as a single to right field scored two, with Munson and Notestein each touching home plate for the 5-0 lead.

Millsaps added two runs in the sixth, and a single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to pull within one at 5-4. The Rhodes pitching staff held strong, holding on for the 5-4 win.

The Lynx rallied for seven hits on the day, with Lourie and Genter each tallying two.

Blake Glauben got the start, and the win in six and two-thirds innings, picking up four K's along the way. Daniel Morris came in the final inning, securing the win for the Lynx.

Rhodes will be back in action on Saturday, April 18 when they wrap up the three game series with the Majors.
