CUNYAC TOURNAMENT: Bearcats Blank CSI (3-0), Play for Championship Saturday at 4pm

More news about: Baruch

The baseball team is one win away from winning the 2015 CUNYAC Championship.

The Bearcats this afternoon defeated the College of Staten Island, 3-0, to advance to tomorrow's sixth game of the tournament.

Cameron Kitt tossed a complete game shutout by allowing only four hits and striking out four for the big postseason win at MCU Park on Coney Island.

Dan Daley had the big hit early in the second inning with a two-run double down the left field line to score Matthew Ballone and Nicholas LaForgia.

Jasdeep Buttar doubled to left center to plate Angel Tejeda for the team's third run in the third inning. That was enough to secure the win and send the fans home early, instead of worrying about playing in the 7pm game.

The College of Staten Island and CCNY were tied at 3 in the eighth inning of that 7pm game, but it was suspended by fog. It will resume tomorrow at 2:30pm. The Bearcats will play the winner at 4:00 pm.

Tickets are free to watch the CUNYAC Championship at MCU Park, but fans must register in advance at CUNYAthletics.com/tickets.
