Auburn, NY – Keystone College advanced to the final four of the NCAA New York Regional bracket with a 7-2 victory over Amherst College in an elimination game on Friday morning at Falcon Park.  The second-seeded Giants (33-13) will play their third-straight elimination game tonight at 7:45 p.m. against the winner of Friday's second game between #8 Oberlin and #7 Old Westbury.

In the first-ever meeting between Keystone and Amherst, Julian Lanfranco (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) led off the visitor's third with a double down the left field line, stole third, and then scored the game's first run on a wild pitch.

Keystone scored four runs on three hits and one error to open up 5-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.  Chris Bzozowski (Westampton, NJ/Bishop Eustace) scored on a bunt single by Joe Angelucci (Commack, NY/Commack) that advanced Ross to third before Angelucci and Ross came home when Dylan Corl (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch ) singled up the middle.  With runners on the corners and one out, Corl scored the Giants' fifth run as Lanfranco was caught in a rundown while trying to take second.

The Giants pushed their lead to 6-0 with two outs in the visitor's fifth when Bzozowski laced a double to the wall in left-center that brought around Louis Reyes (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) from first.

Fifth-seeded Amherst (27-15) threatened for the first time on the afternoon by putting a pair of runners in scoring position with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but Keystone starter James Dunning (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) induced an inning-ending flyout to work out of the jam.

Gaston Rojas (Carmel, NY/Carmel) led off the seventh inning by launching a home run deep over the left field fence for his seventh dinger of the spring to push the Giants' advantage to 7-0.

The Lord Jeffs got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh when Tyler Jacobs singled home Andrew Vandini before Brendon Hardin drove in Sam Elinwood with a base hit to make it a 7-2 ballgame, but that would mark the final run for either team in the contest.

Dunning improve to 8-1 on the season after hurling his second complete game of the spring.  The senior right-hander struck out nine batters one the day – one shy of his season-high – and did not allow a walk while scattering 11 hits in the game.

Lanfranco and Ross had two hits apiece to lead the Giants offensively.

Amherst starter John Cook (5-2) suffered the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits while striking out five batters in seven innings of work.  Chris Baldi retired the side in order in the eighth inning for the Lord Jeffs.  Drew Fischer got the first two outs of the ninth inning before handing the ball off to Mike Castiglie, who retired the final out of the frame.

Mike Odenwaelder, Yanni Thanopoulos, and Conner Gunn had two hits apiece lead the Lord Jeffs' offense in the loss as Amherst held an 11-8 advantage in hits for the game.
