KENOSHA, Wis. - The Benedictine University baseball team finished the season opening series with a road loss to Carthage College on Saturday.

Benedictine could not overcome four first-inning runs from Carthage
The first three batters of the game reached against starter Alex Wolfe, setting the tone for the frame

FROM THE COACH
"We got off to a tough start today," said head coach Adam Smith. "Carthage came out swinging and put us in a hole. We were able to recover and battle the rest of the way but just couldn't get that big hit. I'm very pleased with what I've seen after two games. We've pitched well and plated fantastic defense. Our timely hitting will improve. Overall, I'm very excited about this team and what we can do going forward."

Wolfe worked 3.1 innings and suffered the loss. but the bullpen tossed the final 4.2 without allowing a run
Frank Greco struck out four in 2.2 frames with Jacob Trumpis and Will Diessner finishing the contest
Brandon Gipson was the lone player to log more than one hit in a seven-hit attack, finishing with a pair
