The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins baseball team's offense erupted for a season-high 16 runs on a season-high 17 hits to defeat UW-Stout 16-13 and extend their winning streak to six games. The Jays scored five runs in the top of the first, with the big blow, a three-run home run, coming off the bat of senior captain Mitch Weaver. From there the Blue Jays cruised for most of the game, scoring runs in each of the first six innings and leading by as many as 12. The Blue Devils were able to close within three in the final inning but senior Ross Lazicky came in to record two strikeouts to clinch the win for Hopkins. The six-game winning streak is the longest for the Jays since they won seven in a row during their Florida trip in 2014.

How it Happened:

- The first four Hopkins batters of the game reached base as the Jays scored six in the first inning. Weaver's three-run home run was his third of the season.

- Hopkins added one more run in the second and four more in the third to lead 10-0. The third inning saw two triples, one from Joe Conlon and one from Conor Reynolds.

- JHU led 12-4 through four innings before adding three in the fifth to lead by 11. The three-run fifth was highlighted by a 2-RBI single from Mike Smith.

- The Jays led 16-4 midway through the seventh, but the Blue Devils scored the final nine runs of the game, including six in the eighth to make it closer.

- Lazicky entered the game with one out and the tying runner at the plate, but was able to strike out two Blue Devils to end the game.

Other JHU Highlights:

- Carter Burns started for JHU and struck out six in five innings of work. The senior captain picked up his first win of the year.

- Eight of the Blue Jays' hits were extra base hits.

- The Jays turned a pair of double plays in the win.

- Weaver threw out a runner attempting to steal third early in the ballgame.

- Reynolds recorded his third consecutive multi-hit game.

We need to carry this momentum forward, and if we keep hitting this way I like our chances against anyone." – Ross Lazicky
