The Nichols College baseball team defeated Clark (MA) 6-3 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at the Granger Diamond. The Bison sprung out to a 4-0 lead after three innings before adding a couple more in the ninth to secure their sixth win of the year.

3 – Sophomore Ross Caswell (Randolph, Vt.) (Nichols) – 4-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored; walked once

The Bison pitching staff held the Cougars to just three hits in the game – two of which came in the ninth inning. McElhinney earned his second win of the year while sophomore Kevin Kirley (Clinton, Mass.) earned his fourth save of the season.

- Assenza kicked off the scoring for the Bison with a 3-RBI double to center field that scored sophomore Brendan Martin(Nashua, N.H.), senior Benjamin Harrow (North Reading, Mass.), and Caswell.
- Junior Matt Hardy (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored the first of his two runs off a Caswell single in the third. Hardy finished the game 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs.
- The Cougars had only three hits on the afternoon including hits from senior Michael Eglow (Delmar, N.Y.), sophomore Mikey Thomson (Northampton, Mass.), and graduate student David Eschen (New York, N.Y.). Senior James Conway (Newburyport, Mass.) walked four times in the game.
- Sophomore Conor Walsh (Marstons Mills, Mass.) took the loss after pitching the first six innings and allowing four runs on 12 hits and two walks while striking out three.
- Sophomore Vincent Amato (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning to preserve the lead for the Bison.
