The Short Story: Johns Hopkins allowed the first two runs of the game, but stormed back to score 16 of its own en route to a 16-4 win over Lancaster Bible. Daniel Albert and Tommy Mee each hit home runs in the win, while Mike Smith and Conor Reynolds recorded three-hit games. Preston Betz entered the game in the fifth inning and was nearly untouchable over 4.2 innings of work. The freshman allowed just two hits and struck out a career-best seven hitters to earn his first career win.

How it Happened:

- Lancaster Bible opened the scoring in the top of the first when Adam Cohick hit a 2-out, 2-run double to right-centerfield.

-      Hopkins scored its first run in the bottom of the second inning. Raul Shah led the inning off with a walk and came around to score on Smith's first hit of the day.

-       The Blue Jays took the lead for good in the home half of the third. Hopkins got a sacrifice fly from Albert, RBI single from Mitch Weaver and an RBI double off the bat of Alex Darwiche.

-       After the Chargers tallied twice in the top of the fourth to close within 4-3, the Jays struck for six in the bottom of the inning to blow the game open. JHU loaded the bases without hitting a ball out of the infield. Chris DeGiacomo singled to third and Zach Jaffe and Reynolds both reached on well-placed bunts.  After a sacrifice fly from Mee, Albert stepped up to the plate and sent a ball well over the right-centerfield wall for a three-run home run.

-       Hopkins scored four more runs in the fifth, with the highlight being Mee's fourth career home run, a two-run shot.

-       The final Blue Jay run of the afternoon was scored in the bottom of the eighth, when Pete Siciliano singled to score Jon Hayden, who reached base earlier in the inning on his first hit of the season.

Albert's Take: "I feel like I've been seeing the ball pretty well of late, but the four RBIs are an attribute to my teammates getting on base. This was a great bounce back win for us and tomorrow is another big test. I like where we are at heading into conference play this weekend as our hitting has come around since the beginning of the season. Now we just need to make sure the bats consistently stay hot." –Daniel Albert
