Baruch Knocks Out CCNY (9-5), Game Two Rescheduled to Tomorrow at Randall's Island

The baseball team defeated the Beavers from The City College of New York, 9-5, on Saturday afternoon at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, New York.

The two conference foes were scheduled to play a second game, but due to rain, which at times mixed with snow, the second was postponed to tomorrow, Sunday, April 10, at 12:30 p.m. at Randall's Island Field #53.

The visiting Bearcats rallied twice to overtake the lead and took control in the sixth inning for good with five runs on five hits and two errors en route to building a 2-1 record in early season CUNYAC play.


Jasdeep Buttarand Dan Daleyeach smacked run scoring doubles, while Matthew Balloneand Donovan Hunteach had RBI singles in the big sixth inning to crack the contest wide open.

Winning pitcher Matthew Faziorecorded nine strikouts in five innings.
 

Cameron Kittin relief (2 IP) allowed only one hit and struck out the side in each inning.

Luca Altamiranowas busy with two stolen bases and Michael McGroartyscored two runs.
