The Seahawks (6-7-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when sophomore second baseman John Militano (Miller Place, NY) stole home. RIC (9-9-2) was able to escape the stanza with no more damage as sophomore pitcher Edward Apice (North Kingstown, RI) notched a strikeout to close the inning. |

The Anchormen took the lead in the top of the third, scoring four runs in the inning. Following back-to-back singles to lead off the inning, a wild pitch put both runners in scoring position with no outs. Sophomore center fielder Brad Douglas (Wakefield, RI) broke the game open, reaching on a fielder's choice that brought in two runs. Junior first baseman TJ Lynch (South Kingstown, RI) singled to drive in Douglas with Barry scoring on a two-out single to cap the RIC outburst. |

Salve was able to get a run back in the bottom of the inning when sophomore first baseman Alex Perry (North Attleboro, MA) smashed a solo homer to make the score, 4-2, Anchormen. SRU scored a pair in the bottom of the next inning to tie the game before RIC could take the lead in the sixth. |

RIC started the scoring with junior third baseman Scott Linnane (North Kingstown, RI) notching an RBI single. With two outs and the bases loaded, Barry stepped in and ripped a double, which scored a pair to give RIC a 7-4 lead. |

Salve got one back in the bottom of the frame when freshman right fielder Zack Smith (New Canaan, CT) smacked a solo homer. The Seahawks would be held scoreless until the bottom of the eighth when they were able to score a pair of runs on three hits to knot the game at 7-7. |

The game continued into extra innings, with Salve's All-American, Perry, stepping up to bat against RIC senior pitcher Kory Lawrence (Woonsocket, RI) with two down in the bottom of the 11th. Lawrence was able to strike the All-American out to secure the tie for the Anchormen. |

Apice (1-0) struck out seven in six innings of work, while the Salve bullpen went 8.1 innings, allowing just three runs while striking out seven. |

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East Conference play at home against Plymouth State on Saturday, April 9 (Noon). |
