GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team scored a pair of 2-0 victories over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader Tuesday at Tomcat Park.

Kevin Forrester and Nick Bucci both pitched shutouts in their games against Geneva.

Forrester had a perfect game in Game 1 until Mark Overmier picked up an infield single to second base with one out in the top of the fifth. Forrester struck out seven batters in the complete game victory while only allowing three hits and a walk.

Thiel scored all of their runs in the first game in the bottom of the third. Josh Doody knocked a RBI infield single to the shortstop that scored Dan Koller from third. Brian Genco followed with a RBI groundout to third base to bring home Trent Smith.

Koller registered two hits in the first game while Smith and Doody each got a hit in the win.

Thiel scored in the third inning in the second game as well. Doody hit a pop up to shallow left field that the Geneva left fielder dropped that allowed Matt Elko to score from second.

Daniel Patrice plated Bryan Mitchell from third base on a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Bucci pitched a one-hitter in the second game while striking out six batters and only walking two.

Thiel (21-9, 10-4 PAC) will be back in action Friday, April 22 when they travel to Waynesburg to take on the Yellow Jackets in a PAC nine-inning game. First pitch will be at 4 p.m.
