Sophomore lefty Drew Molin threw a three-hit shutout in Tuesday's opener for his first collegiate complete-game victory in St. Thomas' 2-0 baseball win at UW-Stout.

Game-two starter Ty Feyereisen allowed one run in five innings to aid UST's 6-1 victory that completed a sweep of the two seven-inning, non-conference games.

St. Thomas (19-3), which ran its winning streak to 12, scored all eight runs on the day in two innings. Sophomore Jake Smith made it 19 games in a row reaching base with a hit or walk.

Molin struck out eight and allowed two walks and three singles. Stout didn't advance a runner past second base.

Keller Knoll's two-run single in the second inning plated UST's lone runs. Knoll's single scored Ben Waltz, who singled, and Brady Johnson, who reached second when his sac bunt attempt turned into a two-base throwing error.

In game-two, a six-run third inning provided the UST offense. The Toms had six one-out hits in a row plus an error and a sacrifice fly. Feyereisen struck out four and walked two in his first win of the season. Kasey Ralston pitched two scoreless innings to get the final six outs for St. Thomas.

UST has outscored opponents 84-22 during its 12-game winning streak.

St. Thomas is home Wednesday for a 1 p.m. twinbill against No. 9-ranked UW-LaCrosse, which brings an eight-game winning streak of its own.
