The Short Story: Brian Lin crushed a 3-2 pitch well over the leftfield wall for a 2-run home run that gave Johns Hopkins a 6-4 victory over visiting Gettysburg Thursday at Babb Field.  Lin's heroics came one at-bat after Zach Jaffe recorded a 2-out single to tie the game at four. Hopkins yielded the game's first run in the top of the second inning and the Blue Jays trailed throughout, until Jaffe came through with the clutch 2-out baseknock. The first three JHU runs came via the long ball. Daniel Albert sent a 2-run blast to right field in the fourth inning to make the score 3-2. Mitch Weaver hit his eighth home run of the season in the seventh to cut the Bullets' 4-2 lead in half.  

Nick Burns started for the Jays and went five innings. The southpaw struck out six, but gave up four runs. The bullpen took over for Burns in the sixth and was tremendous for the final four innings. Josh Hejka, Ross Lazicky and Wyatt Lam allowed just three hits and no walks in four innings of work. Lam allowed just one base runner in the eighth and ninth innings to keep Hopkins in the game.

The Facts:
- Hopkins tied the overall series with Gettysburg at 50-50-1.
- This is the second straight year the Jays won via a walk off against Gettysburg at Babb Field.
Last year they beat the Bullets 3-2 on an RBI single from Colin McCarthy.
- Eight of the last nine games between these two teams have been decided by two runs or less.
-  Weaver now leads the Centennial with eight home runs this season. The last JHU player with eight home runs was Chris Wilhelm, who accomplished the feat in 2013.

Lin's Take: "Mitch (Weaver) getting on to lead off the ninth inning was huge, as was Gabe (Maymon) pinch running and swiping second base on a wild pitch. Then Zach (Jaffe) came up and had a great 2-out hit to tie the game and give me a chance. I happened to be in the right spot at the right time thanks to my teammates. Once the count was full I knew their pitcher had to come in with a strike and I was able to hit the pitch well. This is a huge win because we are still in first place and it's something we want to hold on to." –Junior Brian Lin
