The Baruch College Bearcats lost 13-5 to the College of Staten Island in the sixth game of the CUNYAC Championship Tournament played on Sunday afternoon in Staten Island, New York.

The visiting Bearcats struck first with a sacrifice fly RBI by
Luca Altamirano to plate John Paul Cattaro for the 1-0 lead in the third inning.

The Dolphins responded with a run in their bottom half of the third and four more in the fourth to jump ahead, 5-1.

The Bearcats came right back in the fifth with an RBI double by
Jasdeep Buttar, an RBI single by Matthew Ballone, and a run scoring play on a Staten Island error to get them as close as 5-4.

Unfortunately, Staten Island would score the next eight runs and limited the Bearcats to one run in the ninth inning en route to winning the conference crown.

Buttar did not go quietly today at the plate batting 4-for-5, with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Bearcats finish the season with a 14-18 record. They have either finished second or won CUNYAC during each of the past eight years.
