No. 4 BSC Blanks Centre in Doubleheader

DANVILLE, Ky. – No. 4 Birmingham-Southern baseball shutout Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College Saturday in both games of its doubleheader.  BSC (16-4) won 9-0 and 1-0 to improve to 5-0 in conference play.

 

Tyler Wise (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) and Rich Misischia (Dothan, Ala./Regis HS) led the Panthers offensively, finishing .500 on the day.  Wise earned a team-best four hits, including two doubles, scored twice and knocked in a team-high three runs.

 

Stephen Himic (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) pitched a complete game shutout, striking out a team-high six batters in nine innings of work. Ryan Gaines (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody HS) earned the other win.  He went eight innings, striking out five and giving up just three hits.

 

The Panthers finish the road series on Sunday.  First pitch is scheduled for noon ET.
