KING'S BASEBALL DROPS 10-1 DECISION TO SUSQUEHANNA

SELINSGROVE -- The host Susquehanna University baseball team broke open a close game by scoring eight runs over the final four innings to post a 10-1 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday in Selinsgrove.

With the win Susquehanna improved to 11-11 on the year while King's slipped to 10-8.

With Susquehanna holding a 1-0 lead, King's tied the game in the third inning when Sean McKee singled and later scored on a base hit off the bat of Bruce Breithaupt

But Susquehanna scored one run in the fourth inning, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and a combined five runs over the seventh and eighth innings to put the game away.

Christian Pack led King's by going 3-for-4 while Dan Hartson finished 2-for-4.  McKee, Breithaupt, and Brad Wilkins all chipped in with one hit for the Monarchs.

Chris Lupole was the losing pitcher for King's in relief of starter Matt Hassick. Lupole allowed three earned runs on five hits in three innings. Hassick yielded one earned run in two innings or work before leaving the game.

King's returns to the field Friday with a road game at DeSales University and will then turn around to host DeSales in a 1:00 PM Saturday doubleheader.
